Preparation Before a CT Scan

Depending on which part of your body is being scanned, you may be asked to:

  • Remove some or all of your clothing and wear a disposable gown.
  • Remove metal objects such as belts, jewelry, dentures, and glasses that may interfere with the imaging process.
  • Refrain from eating or drinking for a few hours before the CT scan.

Preparation Before a CT Scan with Contrast Injection

Certain conditions, such as acute kidney or liver diseases, may prevent you from undergoing a CT scan.

  • The day before the CT scan with contrast, submit your urea and creatinine test results to the reception unit.
  • If you have thyroid issues or are taking related medications, please inform the reception unit.
  • Report any history of drug or food allergies to the reception unit.
  • Fast for at least four hours before the CT scan with contrast.
  • Please bring all your medical documents, including lab results, ultrasound reports, pathology reports, surgical reports, and other relevant records, on the day of the scan. Note that incomplete documentation may delay your report.
