Preparations Before Mammography

Please take a shower before your appointment.

Do not use any sprays, perfumes, creams, deodorants, or antiperspirants on your breasts or underarms.

Fasting is not required; you may eat and take your usual medications as normal.

To reduce discomfort, you may take a pain reliever about one hour before your mammogram.

Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

Please remove your necklace before the mammogram.

Avoid drinking coffee or other caffeinated beverages such as cola, tea, and energy drinks before the procedure.
Please inform the technician of the following before your mammogram:

Any changes or abnormalities you have noticed in your breasts.

If you have breast implants.

If you have difficulty standing.
-
If you are breastfeeding an infant.

If there is any chance you might be pregnant.
The mammography procedure will take less than 10 minutes. Please remain calm and cooperate with the technician.
If you have previous mammogram or ultrasound results, bring them with you to your appointment.
